A few days ago, Nelliena Moetului, Special Event Coordinator of Innovative Events, orchestrated the unveiling of Moon Mansion. Located in North Bend, WA, this magnificent property is the perfect place for an upscale wedding in a secluded setting. If you’re looking for something off the beaten path, take a peek at Moon Mansion.

While it wasn’t intended that this blog focus heavily on industry issues, it seems that industry issues are focusing heavily on us! LCT Driving Force e-newsletter posted an article briefly summing up the fight against an additional layer of limousine regulation by the city of Seattle.

I'm just glad we're not trying to solve this matter in Ukraine parliament.

What a trip! Face to face meetings with the Washington, DC, offices of House Representative Brian Baird (WA-3), member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, and House Representative Dave Reichart (WA-8), member of the Committee on Ways & Means, went very well, as did the meeting with the office of Senator Maria Cantwell, member of the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation.
The NLA‘s issues of the Real Interstate Driver’s Equity (RIDE) Act amendments and the toning down of chilling business travel rhetoric were both received very well by my home district Representative Reichart’s office, and Olympic Limousine owner Jon Abbott’s home district Representative Baird’s office. In addition, Representative Reichart’s office gave a positive response to our issue regarding the elimination of the Gas Guzzler tax on shorter stretch limousines that slip through the cracks of the current limousine Gas Guzzler tax exemption.
Our group was also joined by Gateway Worldwide Transportation Administrator (and NLA board member) Rich Azzolino. In addition, special thanks to Fred Clark, Executive Vice President & General Council of Cornerstone Government Affairs, who helped us navigate the maze-like world of the United States Congress. With 5 other meetings with California House Representatives and Senators, the NLA Day on the Hill, held Tuesday, June 9, 2009, was a very busy day for our west coast contingent, indeed! We look forward to working closely with these offices in the future.
